CCP hf, the Icelandic developers of EVE Online, the massively-multiplayer space battle simulator, may be put up for sale. Apparently, multiple potential bidders have recently expressed interest and CCP is weighing the options.
The company’s owners, including Novator Partners LLP, General Catalyst Partners LLC, and New Enterprise Associates Inc are discussing whether or not to move forward with the sale, potentially valuing the business at $955 million.
While CCP is famously known for EVE Online, they have developed VR titles in the series, including EVE: Valkyrie and EVE: Gunjack. They are currently developing Junjack 2 for Google Daydream.
CCP’s last round of funding came in at $30 from New Enterprise and Novator. This round was completed in November 2015 and valued the company at $300 at the time.
